May Molteno, Jane Whitaker and Star Molteno

Jane is a skilled project manager – ensuring that deadlines are met, project outcomes are delivered and budgets are kept to. She is adept at taking complex ideas and turning them into manageable projects. Prior to starting Pathways, Jane held a variety of senior management posts in the voluntary sector: Community Liasion Manager at Red Rose Forest and Programme Manager for Groundwork Macclesfield and Vale Royal.

May leads on designing Pathways’ social research projects. With a background in primary research, she brings clarity and direction to our work – ensuring we gather rich information from local people. May combines this with an expertise in facilitation and training. She is an intuitive and strong facilitator, working with both small focus groups and large stakeholder meetings. Her training style is creative and engaging.

Star’s background is in academic social research in Human Ecology, exploring the ways that people engage with and are shaped by the natural world. Prior to working with Pathways Star has worked at the Environmental Change Institute, Oxford and with the Social and Economic Research Group, at Forest Research. With an eye for detail and a passion for numbers Star adds methodological rigour and analytical precision to the project team. A natural communicator, Star is an experienced interviewer and group facilitator; listening, learning and always analysing.

Our Engagement Team

Our community engagement team are skilled at helping local people participate more actively in projects to shape their communities.  Mac Carding has a horticultural background and works as an environmental educator for over 20 years. Andy Sheridan is an inspiring conservation volunteer leader, skilled helping people of all ages and abilities to participate. Steve Landin leads on Pathways’ one-to-one interviewing work, helping people to give their views confidently. He is a skilled photographer and you’ll be able to see his images in our 2011 website and in our reports. Joe Gregory regularly works with us making amazing willow structuires and helpinpeople to get creative at our events. Richard Vink and Michael Rowan work alongside us advising on green space issues.
